On March 31, the 2026 Qingdao International Shipping Week Forum on High-Quality Development of Green and Smart Shipping was held in Qingdao. Vice President Zeng Qingcheng attended the forum and signed two industry-university-research cooperation agreements on behalf of Dalian Maritime University (DMU). Former Party Secretary and President Sun Yuqing of DMU also attended the forum.


During the forum, DMU signed industry-university-research cooperation agreements with Shandong Shipping Corporation, the China Shipowners Mutual Assurance Association, and other entities. The university also signed a framework agreement on seafarer cultivation cooperation with Shanghai Maritime University, China Classification Society, Lloyd’s Register (China) Co., Ltd., DNV (China) Co., Ltd., Bureau Veritas Marine (China) Co., Ltd., Shandong Seafarer Service Association, and other organizations. The signing of these two agreements further strengthens the university’s industry-university-research collaboration with leading shipping enterprises and industry institutions, serving as key pillars for deepening the integration of industry and education and enhancing industry empowerment. This has injected new momentum into the university’s efforts to serve the national strategies of building a leading shipping nation, a transportation powerhouse, and a strong maritime nation.
Under the theme “Green Shipping, Blue Economy,” the forum brought together over 200 guests, including representatives from the International Maritime Organization, renowned domestic and international cargo owners, shipowners, shipbuilding enterprises, financial and insurance institutions, classification societies, flag state authorities, universities, research institutes, industry think tanks, and news media. Together, they explored new trends in the green and smart transformation of the global shipping industry and new pathways for high-quality development.
