On December 2, Professor Ryan Murphy, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Swansea University in the UK, Baris Soyer, Director of the Institute of International Shipping and Trade Law, and Sunny Zhao, mentor of the Sino-foreign cooperation in running school, visited our university for a series of in-depth exchanges on further international cooperation between the two universities. Professor Zeng Qingcheng, Vice President of Dalian Maritme University, attended the symposium.
On behalf of Dalian Maritime University, Zeng Qingcheng extended a sincere welcome to Ryan Murphy and his delegation. He introduced the development, international exchanges, and inter-university exchanges of Dalian Maritime University in recent years, and reviewed the fruitful achievements of cooperation between the two universities over the past two decades. He expressed that our university will fully support the smooth implementation of the project and strive to make it an important platform for sharing legal education resources, jointly cultivating international talents, conducting scientific research cooperation, and promoting humanities exchanges between the two universities. He hoped that both sides would seize this opportunity to collaborate in fields such as economic management, engineering disciplines, humanities, and social sciences.
Ryan Murphy introduced the history of Swansea University and its development achievements in recent years. He mentioned that Swansea University's teaching and research in maritime law is leading in the world. The cooperation with Dalian Maritime University in undergraduate teaching program in law represents another new achievement of a strong alliance between the two universities. Swansea University will fully support and ensure the smooth operation of the program.
During the meeting, the discussion focused on the construction of the law major (Sino-foreign cooperation in running school) that admitted its first batch of students this year and both sides agreed on the effective measures to further promote the smooth operation of the major in the future.
