On the morning of April 30, a delegation led by Vice-Rector Andrey Bobylo of Russia’s Admiral Nevelskoy State Maritime University (Nevelskoy MSU) visited our university. Vice President Zeng Qingcheng met with the guests for a discussion and exchange session.

Vice President Zeng Qingcheng extended a warm welcome to Vice-Rector Andrey Bobylo and his delegation, providing a brief overview of the university’s history, disciplinary strengths, and international cooperation initiatives. He noted that our university shares a profound and solid foundation of partnership with Nevelskoy SMU. Since 2006, the two institutions have carried out a series of pragmatic collaborations in areas such as joint dual-degree programs, academic exchanges, and faculty and student visits. He expressed his hope that both parties would use this visit as a new starting point to further leverage their respective academic advantages. By focusing on key areas such as polar shipping and Arctic navigation safety, he aimed to deepen scientific research cooperation, promote joint maritime talent cultivation and reciprocal training ship visits, and continuously elevate the level and scope of the partnership.
Dr. Andrey Bobylo expressed his gratitude for the university’s warm hospitality and provided an overview of Nevelskoy SMU’s operations, academic strengths, and the development of its Maritime Training Center. He emphasized that Nevelskoy SMU highly values its friendly cooperative relationship with our university. He noted that he looked forward to deepening collaboration in areas such as faculty and student exchanges, joint scientific research, the development of Arctic-related curricula, and training ship exchanges, with the goal of pushing maritime education exchange between the two institutions to a new level.

Relevant officials from the International Cooperation and Exchange Office also attended the meeting.
During the visit, Dr. Andrey Bobylo and his delegation toured the University’s Maritime Education Museum and the new library.
