
On March 23, the 2025 Annual Exchange Conference of Dalian Maritime University Singapore Alumni Association was held in Singapore. The conference convened over 200 participants, including representatives from the Chinese Embassy in Singapore, Shandong Business Office in Southeast Asia, Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), Hong Kong Marine Department, sister alumni associations, faculty representatives, representatives from alumni companies in Singapore, and alumni representatives in Singapore. Shan Hongjun, President of Dalian Maritime University and Chairman of the University Alumni Association, delivered a video speech at the event.
In the video, President Shan Hongjun, on behalf of the university and the alumni association, extended greetings to Singapore-based alumni. He underscored Singapore’s strategic position as an international maritime hub within global shipping networks, where generations of the university’s alumni have established themselves over decades. These professionals have pioneered advancements across shipping logistics, maritime governance, legal services, and financial sectors, collectively elevating the institution’s global imprint in maritime industry development. He emphasized that the university has always adhered to the philosophy of lifelong service to its alumni, sparing no effort to support their career development. He expressed his hope that alumni would continue to support the university, actively contribute ideas and efforts to its development, and work together to promote the high-quality advancement of all its endeavors.

Zheng Dazhai, President of the Singapore Alumni Association, warmly welcomed the guests and alumni attending the event and expressed his heartfelt gratitude. He emphasized that the Singapore Alumni Association will continue to uphold its mission of serving alumni, supporting the alma mater, and contributing to the industry. The association aims to provide a platform for alumni to connect, collaborate, and achieve mutual success, fostering a supportive community that benefits both alumni and the university.

At the exchange conference, attendees engaged in in-depth discussions and thematic exchanges on topics such as the application of AI models in shipping, green shipping, and the digital and intelligent transformation of the maritime industry.
