President Shan Hongjun Attends the Convention Between Carriers and Ports for Ocean Alliance 2025

On January 13, the Convention Between Carriers and Ports for Ocean Alliance 2025 was held in Boao, Hainan. The conference, themed “Digital Intelligence-driven Green Transition of Supply Chain”, was attended by prominent figures including Mr. Gu Gang, Vice Governor of Hainan Provincial Government, Mr. He Jianzhong, Chairman of China Institute of Navigation, Mr. Xu Lirong, Chairman of China Shipowners Mutual Assurance Association and Mr. Wan Min, Chairman of COSCO Shipping Group.


President Shan Hongjun was invited to the conference and delivered a keynote speech titled “Implementing the Concept of a Shared Future for Mankind and Jointly Promoting the Intelligent and Green Development of the Global Port and Shipping Industry” at the forum on digital, intelligent, and green development of ports and shipping sector. From the perspective of building a community with a shared future for mankind, he cited typical practices of intelligent and green development in the domestic and international port and shipping industries, analyzed the development trends of the global port and shipping sector, and shared the university’s active explorations and achievements in intelligent and green port and shipping technology. He emphasized that resilience and sustainable development in the global port and shipping industry rely heavily on intelligent and green transformation, which requires all parties in the industry to be open, collaborative, seize opportunities, and address challenges. He expressed that Dalian Maritime University is willing to work with colleagues in the global port and shipping industry to jointly promote the intelligent and green development of the industry and make positive contributions to the construction of a safe, convenient, efficient, green, economical, inclusive, resilient and sustainable transportation system and to the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.

More than 400 representatives from government agencies, industry associations, shipping, ports, railway, logistics, trade sectors, and universities, as well as renowned experts and scholars in the industry attended the conference. Participants shared their experiences and conducted in-depth exchanges on the deepening of digital supply chain cooperation between ports and shipping operators, the new-quality development of global port, shipping, and trade integration, digital intelligence, and green low-carbon development. During the conference, the Ocean Alliance released the DAY9 route products and initiated the “Boao Initiative 2025”.
