On May 14th,Dalian Maritime University's 2026 “Bank of China Cup”Spring Sports Games & Parade Inspection officially kicked off!

Attending the opening ceremony were Hu Gang, President of the Bank of China Dalian Branch; Song Tao, Vice President of the Bank of China Dalian Branch; Xu Minqiang, Party Secretary of Dalian Maritime University; Shan Hongjun, President of Dalian Maritime University; Luo Zhongshan, Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Committee of Dalian Maritime University; and Zeng Qingcheng, Vice President of Dalian Maritime University.

Xu Minqiang announced the opening of the sports games.

On behalf of the university, President Shan Hongjun extended a warm welcome to the leaders and guests present, expressed his gratitude to Bank of China Dalian Branch and all the staff who had meticulously prepared and organized the sports meet, and offered his regards to the athletes competing with great determination on the field. He noted that youth in the new era are entrusted with the mission to bring about national rejuvenation and build a strong country, requiring them to strengthen their physiques, cultivate character, and temper willpower through sports. The university has consistently prioritized physical education as a vital component of talent development. By reinforcing the educational philosophy of “health first”, expanding the reach and accessibility of sports activities, and exploring innovations in physical education curriculum reform, the university aims to guide and encourage all faculty and students to actively engage in lifelong sports, thereby fostering a healthy and uplifting campus atmosphere. He emphasized that this year is a critical year for the university to seize the opportunities presented by “the 15th Five-Year Plan” and strive towards the goal of building a “world-class research-oriented maritime university with Chinese characteristics”. This requires the entire university to maintain a proactive attitude and courageously shoulder this significant mission. He expressed his hope that all faculty and students would use physical activity as a unifying force, closely linking personal health with the nation’s destiny, transforming the sportsmanship of unity, cooperation, and striving for excellence into a powerful driving force for the university’s high-quality development, and writing a magnificent chapter worthy of youth, the nation, and the era with high spirits.

In his address, Hu Gang noted that the Bank of China Dalian Branch shares a deep foundation of cooperation and a strong partnership with DMU. As the “Cradle of Navigators”, DMU’s athletic spirit has always been perfectly aligned with its core university values: “Resolve, Rigor, Diligence and Innovation”. This parade review, he stated, not only highlights the exceptional physical fitness of DMU students but also showcases their vibrant energy—fully embodying the spirit of youth dedicating itself to national strength. Hu emphasized that the Bank of China remains committed to its founding mission of "Finance for the People," viewing support for education as a top-priority public welfare initiative. The goal is to help DMU students not only master rigorous technical and professional skills but also build strong physiques and forge resilient character on the sports field. This ensures they are fully prepared to contribute to building China into a powerhouse in transportation and maritime affairs. Looking ahead, the Bank of China will continue to leverage its strengths in globalization and integrated services to further deepen university-bank cooperation, driving the seamless integration of "Smart Campus" initiatives with "Financial Technology."

Li Haoyang, athlete representative and champion of the men’s 5,000 meters at the 2025 Liaoning Provincial University Track and Field Championships, took the oath on behalf of all athletes.
