On the afternoon of December 4, the 2023-2024 NYK (Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha) Scholarship Award Ceremony of Dalian Maritime University was held in Lingshui International Conference Hall. A delegation of three, including Kurosaka Nobuki, Chairman of NYK (China) Co., Ltd. and chief representative of NYK for China, attended the event. Zhao Baogang, Vice President of the university, was also present at the ceremony, which was hosted by Wang Yibo, Director of the Student Affairs Department of the Party Committee.

Zhao Baogang expressed heartfelt gratitude and great respect to NYK for its long-standing concern for the development of the university, enthusiasm for education, and generous donations to support education. He hoped that all award-winning students would cherish their honors and internalize them as inspiration to work hard and strive for excellence. In their future studies and lives, he encouraged them to be always grateful, act with gratitude and actively as role models, and practice the values of Dalian Maritime University through practical actions. He urged them to strive to become ambitious, responsible, hardworking, and enterprising young talents of the university in the new era.

In his speech, Kurosaka Nobuki congratulated all the students winning the award and briefly introduced the development history, corporate philosophy, business areas, and scholarship programs of NYK. He noted that as an enterprise with a strong sense of social responsibility, NYK is committed to conducting public welfare activities in the field of education. The company has had a long-standing cooperation with Dalian Maritime University and hopes to encourage young students to study diligently, overcome difficulties, and move forward confidently by establishing scholarships.

Ma Mingfei, Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office, announced the list of award-winning students.

Kurosaka Nobuki presented honorary certificates to representatives of the award-winning students.

Fan Zeyuan, a student from Grade 2023 of the School of Foreign Languages, spoke on behalf of all the award-winning students, expressing sincere gratitude to NYK for its support.

Jin Jiacheng, a student from Grade 2023 of the College of International Collaboration, presented a gift of gratitude, "Hua Fan Yuan Hang" or "Flowers Sailing" to NYK on behalf of all the award-winning students.

Chen Qiusheng, Acting Director of the Beijing Office of NYK, Li Guang, Deputy General Manager of NYK Dalian Automobile Terminal Co., Ltd., and student representatives also participated in the event.

After the ceremony, guests from NYK also visited the university's navigation simulator, maritime education museum, and new library.
