On April 21, President Sun Yuqing visited Gdynia Maritime University (GMU) in Poland, aiming to promote exchanges and cooperation among the IAMU Executive Committee members and jointly prosper global maritime education and research.

During the visit, Sun Yuqing held a meeting with Adam Weintrit, President of GMU. Sun Yuqing introduced DMU’s development in the areas of talent training and scientific innovation. He hoped that the two universities could carry out cooperation as soon as possible in the fields of shipboard internship, joint education and faculty staff exchange.

Adam Weintrit introduced the programs of GMU, its training plan for the navigation major students, and the English-taught programs. He looked forward to cooperate with DMU as soon as possible to promote the development of international maritime education and industry.

During the meeting, DMU and GMU signed the Memorandum of Understanding and agreed to cooperate in the areas such as faculty staff and students exchanges and visits, joint research programs. Meanwhile, the delegation visited the engine-room simulator, navigation simulator, planetarium, and other teaching and training facilities of GMU.
