On the morning of November 12th, a delegation headed by Mr. Hiroyasu Takaizumi, Chief Representative of NYK in China, visited DMU and participated in the awarding ceremony of NYK scholarships and grants in the academic year 2017-2018.
Vice-President Zhao Youtao extended warm welcome to the delegation and sincere thanks for NYK’s scholarships and grants. He briefly introduced DMU’s programs and enrollment situation, reviewed the cooperation between DMU and NYK in the past ten years and hoped to strengthen mutual cooperation in terms of scientific research and talents training.
Mr. Hiroyasu Takaizumi expressed sincere thanks for the warm reception. He briefly introduced the philosophy and culture of NYK, and said that nowadays a number of high-level maritime talents are required in the shipping industry. So he hoped to work together with DMU to reinforce the development of the shipping industry.
After the meeting, Vice-President Zhao Youtao and Mr. Hiroyasu Takaizumi attended the awarding ceremony of NYK scholarships and grants in the academic year 2017-2018. Prof. Fu Xianping, the Director of International Cooperation and Exchange Office, chaired the ceremony.
In the academic year 2017-2018, 42 students obtained NYK scholarships and grants. Vice-President Zhao Youtao warmly congratulated them and hoped that they will continue to make contributions to the global shipping industry. He also hoped that they will remain grateful and jointly build a transportation industry that is more convenient, safe, intelligent and environmentally friendly.
Mr. Hiroyasu Takaizumidelivered a speech and congratulated the students. He briefly introduced the history, business scope and company philosophy of NYK and said that there is a long history of cooperation between NYK and DMU. He said that scholarships & grants establishment is a public activity of NYK in the educational area, and hoped that those 42 students can aim high and realize their dreams.
Mr. Xu Dejiang, Deputy Director of Students Affairs Office, announced award-winning students list, and Mr. Hiroyasu Takaizumi conferred the certificates.
