¡ð Responsibilities:
The responsibility will be, but not limited to, the teaching and training of deck
students (cadets) in the specialization subjects of:
Ship stability Cargo handling
Ship maneuvering Marine radar and ARPA
ECDIS Marine meteorology
Seamanship Marine casualty investigation
Ship master business Ship safety management
¡ð Personal Qualifications: Native English speaker
¡ð Professional qualification:
Master Mariner¡¯s Certificate of Competence (COC), unlimited.
At least five (5) year's sea experience as the ship¡¯s master.
¡ð Educational qualification:
Master's degree or above in nautical science or relevant disciplines; or
Bachelor's degree in nautical science

¡ð Personal Qualifications: Native English speaker
¡ð Professional qualification:
Chief Engineer¡¯s Certificate of Competence (COC), unlimited.
At least five (5) year's sea experience as the ship¡¯s chief engineer.
¡ð Educational qualifications:
Master's degree or above in marine engineering or relevant disciplines; or
Bachelor's degree in marine engineering, naval architecture
¡ð Other information:
¡ð Class Size: Average: 30 students in each class
¡ð Work Load: Average: 10 teaching hours each week, one seminar each month.
¡ð Accommodations: Free two-room apartment with heating system, computer,
TV set,air conditioner, as well fully furnished, including basic utilities.
¡ð Contract Period: The contract with DMU shall be preferably one academic
year, i.e. September to July of the following year.
¡ð Salary: Negotiable according to personal qualifications
¡ð Air Ticket: An international round trip economic-class tickets
shall be provided by DMU. The tickets can be purchased and will be
reimbursed upon successful completion of the contract.
¡ð Assistance: Student volunteers will be assigned to foreign
teachers for guidance and assistance living at DMU.
¡ð Application: All application documents shall be typewritten in English.
The applicants shall prepare and send the following documents:
resume;
photocopy of your passport page containing your photo;
copy of your graduation certificates;
copy of COC; and
two current reference letters.
Initial appointment is subject to a satisfactory
medical examination.
¡ð Responsibilities:
Average class size: 30 students; average age 20. A few adult classes
also for the large local port and shipping industry;
Class level: intermediate and advanced;
Subjects: speaking (¡°oral English¡±), listening comprehension,
reading and writing.
¡ð Required Qualifications: BA and one year of overseas ESL/EFL teaching
experience and one of the following: BA in ELT; BA in TEFL/TESL or a
closely allied field (e.g. Applied Linguistics); an additional 4 or
more years EFL/ESL experience.
¡ð Preferred Qualifications: MA in TEFL/TESL or Applied Linguistics, or a one
academic year, full time post graduate diploma in TEFL/TESL from a
recognized university and two years overseas teaching experience in EFL/ESL.
¡ð Benefit: Rent free; central heating;up-to-date computer; color TV set; air
conditioner; fully furnished accommodation (3 rooms, kitchen and shower)
including basic utilities; The teachers must pay inbound airfare. At the
end of the teaching year, the full roundtrip fare is paid by the
university; nearly two months paid winter leave each year;
