On the afternoon of September 5th, a delegation headed by Mr. Eddy van Hijum, Vice-Governor of Province of Overijssel, the Netherlands, visited DMU.
President Sun Yuqing extended a warm welcome to the delegation. He reviewed the cooperation between DMU and the enterprises in Overijssel in the fields of ship and marine pollution control in recent years, and briefly introduced the latest scientific research trends in energy saving and scientific pollution prevention. He said that he hopes to conduct more cooperation at a higher level with the Netherlands universities and enterprises with the support from the government of Overijssel.
Mr. Eddy van Hijum expressed sincere thanks for the warm reception. He introduced the cooperation with the government, enterprises and universities in Liaoning Province and expressed the hope to take this visit as an opportunity to deepen the comprehensive cooperation between Overijssel and DMU, including the establishment of a school-enterprise cooperation platform and friendly relationships with the Netherlands universities such as the Saxion University.
After the meeting, Mr. Eddy van Hijum delivered a lecture entitled “Water Management of the Netherlands”, during which he introduced the geographical environment of the Netherlands, the necessity of water management, and the advanced and practical water management methods. The lecture was well received by the teachers and students of our university.
