The 13th “MSc in Maritime Safety and Environmental Management” Graduation Ceremony was held in DMU

On August 26th, the 13th “MSc in Maritime Safety and Environmental Management” graduation ceremony was held in the COSCO auditorium of Dalian Maritime University.

Cleopatra D. Henry, President of WMU, Ma Shuo, Vice-President of WMU, Sun Yuqing, President of DMU, Zhao Youtao, Vice-President of DMU, representatives of Liaoning Maritime Safety Administration, Guangdong Maritime Safety Administration, Yangtze River Pilotage Center, Shanghai Maritime Safety Administration and other relevant institutions attended the graduation ceremony.

The 13th graduation students and their families, and the representatives of the 14th attended the graduation ceremony. The ceremony was hosted by Ma Shuo, Vice-President of WMU.

President Sun reviewed the development history of cooperation between DMU and WMU, and emphasized that the two universities will deepen and broaden the cooperation on the basis of “MSc in Maritime Safety and Environmental Management”, making new contributions to the development of maritime education, the promotion of international maritime communication and cooperation, and the cultivation of more high-educated international talents in the maritime field.

President Cleopatra D. Henry fully affirmed the significant position of DMU in the new partnership of WMU, and hoped that the graduates would cultivate themselves into high-quality talents and make outstanding contributions to their own country and even the global maritime industry.

In subsequent meetings, Li Yuheng, Deputy-Director of the Human Resources Department of Liaoning Maritime Safety Administration, Yu Fen, Deputy-Director of the Human Resources Department of Guangdong Maritime Safety Administration, and Fan Dongqing, secretary of Zhangjiagang of the Yangtze River Pilotage Center, spoke on behalf of the institutions respectively.

They expressed sincere gratitude to all the teachers and highly appreciated the importance of this project for the cultivation of maritime talents, and then extended sincere congratulations to all the graduates.

Finally, the representatives of the students gave a speech and presented  books to our school library.
